Private Cu Chi Tunnels Half-Day from Ho Chi Minh City
(Ask for a specific departure time and meeting location.)
Cu Chi Tunnels is a legendary underground system with over 220 kilometers of tunnels that is a must-see for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors interested in Vietnam War history. The tunnels are now considered a Vietnam historical structure and a heroic district for their role in the resistance to US forces during the Vietnam War.
The tunnels are about 60 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. In a private vehicle, the tour departs from our office or from your hotel. Enjoy the scenery as we pass through lush, endless rice fields and rivers teeming with ducks and water buffaloes. You might find it difficult to believe that Cu Chi was once a “free target zone” before it was nearly completely destroyed by wartime bombs and mines.
You will have the opportunity to walk through some of the tunnels, discover hidden corners, and imagine what life was like for the resistance soldiers once we arrive. Try cooking with the smokeless stoves that Vietnamese soldiers used to cook during the war. You can even sample some of the foods that the soldiers ate. You can even try your hand at shooting an AK-47, one of the weapons used during the war, if you’re feeling brave or curious.
Return to the city; the tour will end at your hotel.
